COLOMBIA, TIERRA MIA

An incredible privilege to be invited to celebrate Colombia's Independence Day at the Mayor's Office, San Francisco City Hall.

While I have performed for several weddings at our majestic City Hall and several on the elegant Mayor's Balcony on the 2nd floor, this was my first time performing within the Mayor's Office, proper. Before the Reception we gathered for the Flag Ceremony and National Anthem at the Balcony (the one truly within the Mayor's Office, the one facing Polk St).

After performing these two beautiful pieces for the General Counsel of Colombia and invited Guests of Honor we 'five' were free to enjoy our choice of delicious ceviche and the cutest cookies, each with either the Seal of SF or the Flag of Colombia:

• Mozart's K581, First Movement - the Clarinet Quintet

• Colombia, Tierra Mia - a cumbia and the unofficial national anthem that had everyone singing with our playing!

I can't wait for my next diplomatic adventure!
